The Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee (LPPC), has revealed the names of 57 new Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs).
Chaired by the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, the committee meticulously deliberated on the appointments, which encompassed legal practitioners and one academic.
According to a statement issued by Hajo Sarki-Bello, the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court and Secretary of the LPPC, the selection of these new SANs was based on their outstanding contributions to the legal profession and their unwavering commitment to the Code of Ethics governing the field.
The statement also noted that the LPPC reviewed four separate petitions against certain applicants and found them to lack merit, ultimately dismissing them. The new senior advocates are set to be formally inaugurated on November 27 at the Supreme Court complex by the CJN.
Among the distinguished legal professionals appointed as Senior Advocates of Nigeria are Felix Ota Offia, Lawrence Bankole Falade, Kingsley Obamogie, Folasade Alli, Abiola Isiaq Oyebanji, Bomo Olakunle Agbebi, Daniel Uruakpa, and Oseloka Godwin Osuigwe.
The list of new SANs also includes Babatunde Adeoye, Babaseyi Joseph, Emmanuel Moses Enoidem, Kehinde Olufemi Aina, Nghozi Oleh, Aaron Chile Okoroma, Ibrahim Angulu, and Olayiwola Afolabi.
