Liverpool Boss Arne Slot Urges Team To Break Losing Habit After Fourth Straight Defeat

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has called on his players to quickly break what he described as a “losing habit” after the Reds suffered their fourth consecutive defeat, a run that has intensified pressure on the Dutch coach.

Speaking after Liverpool’s 2-1 home loss to Manchester United on Wednesday, Slot admitted his team has been struggling to convert performances into results. “We’ve created an unbelievable amount of chances recently, but football is about taking those chances and defending well. Results don’t lie — if you lose three or four in a row, something must change,” he said.

Liverpool’s latest setback followed defeats to Crystal Palace, Galatasaray, and Chelsea, marking their worst form in recent years. Slot stressed the need for balance between attack and defence, pointing out that poor set-piece defending and lapses in concentration have cost them vital points.

“The boys are working hard, and the confidence is still there,” Slot added. “But we can’t allow this to become a habit. Liverpool must respond now and show the mentality this club is known for.”

Fans at Anfield were visibly frustrated as the team failed to capitalise on early opportunities, while United took advantage with clinical finishing. Despite the disappointing run, Slot remains confident that Liverpool can bounce back stronger.

He concluded, “The Premier League is unforgiving. We must learn quickly, regroup, and turn performances into wins. That’s the only way to move forward.”
