NACCIMA Strengthens Its Digital Economy Strategy With The Appointment Of Ambassador Segun Olugbile, FNCS

Seasoned Tech and Policy Expert to Drive NACCIMA’s Digital Transformation Initiatives

The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), has taken a decisive step toward strengthening private-sector participation in Nigeria’s digital economy with the appointment of Ambassador Olusegun H. Olugbile, MCPN, FNCS, as its Digital Economy Coordinator.

The appointment, which becomes effective January 1, 2026, underscores NACCIMA’s renewed commitment to positioning Nigerian businesses for competitiveness in an increasingly technology-driven global marketplace.

Driving NACCIMA’s Digital Vision

As Digital Economy Coordinator, Ambassador Olugbile will be responsible for coordinating and driving NACCIMA’s digital economy strategy, aligning technology adoption across its vast network of chambers, and supporting digital innovation among member businesses nationwide.

Central to his mandate is the rollout and optimisation of NACCIMA’s Integrated Digital Transformation Platform (IDTP)—a flagship initiative designed to modernise chamber operations, improve service delivery, and create a unified digital ecosystem that connects businesses, policymakers, and markets.

The role reflects NACCIMA’s recognition that digital transformation is no longer optional but essential for productivity, market access, and sustainable economic growth.

A Leader with Global Digital Credentials

Ambassador Olugbile brings to the role a wealth of experience spanning technology leadership, digital policy advocacy, and international engagement. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Araba Technologies Ltd, a seasoned digital solutions firm, and is widely respected as a Chartered IT Professional and Fellow of the Nigeria Computer Society (FNCS).

Beyond the private sector, his credentials include participation in high-level global digital governance initiatives, notably his involvement with the United Nations Secretary-General’s Global Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Group on Internet Governance, where he contributed to shaping international discourse on digital inclusion, internet policy, and technology regulation.

These experiences place him in a strong position to bridge the gap between global digital best practices and local business realities.

Strengthening Private-Sector Readiness

NACCIMA, as the umbrella body for chambers of commerce across Nigeria, plays a critical role in shaping private-sector policy advocacy and business development.

With Nigeria’s digital economy contributing an increasing share to GDP, the association’s leadership sees the need for structured coordination to help businesses adapt to emerging technologies such as e-commerce platforms, digital payments, data-driven decision-making, and cross-border digital trade.

Ambassador Olugbile’s appointment is expected to strengthen capacity-building programmes, support digital skills development, and encourage wider adoption of technology among small, medium, and large enterprises within the NACCIMA network.

Positioning Nigeria for Digital Growth

The appointment comes at a time when Nigeria is intensifying efforts to diversify its economy, improve ease of doing business, and unlock new opportunities in the digital space. Analysts note that strong private-sector leadership is essential to complement government initiatives and ensure that businesses can fully harness the benefits of digitalisation.

By institutionalising the Digital Economy Coordinator role, NACCIMA is signaling its intention to play a more proactive role in shaping Nigeria’s digital future—one that prioritises innovation, competitiveness, and inclusive growth.

With Ambassador Segun Olugbile at the helm of this strategic portfolio, stakeholders are optimistic that NACCIMA’s digital transformation drive will gain momentum, translating policy vision into practical outcomes for Nigerian businesses at home and abroad.
