The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), has confirmed that one of its Alpha-Jet aircraft was involved in an in-flight emergency on 6 December 2025 near Kainji Air Force Base, Niger State. The incident prompted the safe ejection of both pilots, who are now undergoing routine medical evaluation.

The Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, confirmed the incident which was reported by Fishe NG, in a statement on Saturday, explaining that the aircraft developed an emergency shortly after take-off. “NAF commends the exceptional bravery and professionalism of its Alpha Jet pilots who safely ejected following an in-flight emergency during a post-inspection functional check flight today, 6 December 2025, at Nigerian Air Force Base Kainji,” Ejodame stated.
