The reigning champions wasted no time in asserting their dominance, taking the lead in just the fifth minute. The score came about when a shot from Giovanni di Lorenzo struck the post, fortuitously rebounding off Verona’s goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipo and into the net.
The hosts sealed the match in the 61st minute when Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, who once plied his trade at Fulham, unleashed a powerful, unstoppable shot to ensure Napoli’s fifth consecutive league win.
