Ali Modu Sheriff has denied accusations that he claimed Vice President Kashim Shettima was responsible for creating Boko Haram.
In a statement issued by his media office, Sheriff described the report as false, malicious, and a dangerous piece of fake news aimed at undermining his contributions to peace and national development.
Sheriff emphasized that he never granted an interview or made comments relating to the claims, and has instructed his legal team to identify and prosecute those responsible for spreading the misinformation. He warned that if the publication is not retracted, he will seek full legal redress.
The statement urged the public and media to disregard the viral story, reaffirming Sheriff’s commitment to truth, justice, and accountability. Sheriff has served as Governor of Borno State and National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress.
