The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has issued a stern directive to state Football Associations (FAs), emphasizing the need to complete their FA Championship finals on either the 30th or 31st of March. Failure to comply will result in a hefty fine of N1 million.
In a recent announcement, the NFF reiterated its stance on the scheduling of the FA Championship finals across the 36 states and Abuja. The governing body emphasized that any disruption of the set schedule by state FAs would not be tolerated.
The NFF’s decision comes as a response to instances where some state FAs have delayed or rescheduled their championship finals, causing disruptions to the football calendar. To address this issue and ensure uniformity in the competition, the NFF has mandated that all state FAs adhere strictly to the specified dates for their finals.
Furthermore, the NFF has made it clear that any state FA that fails to hold its final on the designated dates will be subject to the N1 million fine. This penalty applies equally to FAs that organize their finals before the specified dates.
This directive aims to streamline the FA Championship schedule and maintain the integrity and efficiency of football competitions at the state level. The NFF encourages all state FAs to cooperate and fulfill their obligations within the stipulated timeframe to avoid penalties and ensure a smooth running of the championship.
