NIDCOM Honours Ahmed Musa As Exemplary Mentor And Philanthropist

Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has bestowed its maiden National Diaspora Merit Award upon Super Eagles Captain, Ahmed Musa, lauding him for his exceptional mentorship and philanthropic endeavors.

 

 

Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of NiDCOM, expressed her admiration for Ahmed Musa’s commitment to being a positive ambassador for Nigeria, both on and off the field.





Speaking while receiving the football player and his delegation in Abuja, Dabiri-Erewa stated that the player has heeded to the mandate of being a good Ambassador, remembering the country and excelling in the art of football.

 

 

“Ahmed Musa exemplifies the essence of being a Great Soccer Ambassador, Philanthropist, and mentor,” stated Dabiri-Erewa. “His dedication to building sports academies across Kano, Kaduna, Lagos, and Plateau, coupled with his altruistic gestures, such as assisting the less privileged, truly reflect his impact on humanity.”

Musa Responding, expressed his gratitude to the NiDCOM Chairman, thanked her for all her support to the Diaspora, especially during the crisis in Sudan and recounted his journey from humble beginnings to football stardom.

 

He spoke about his desire to inspire others, especially those who may have underestimated the potential of athletes, by establishing educational initiatives, including a school in his hometown of Kano, with plans for expansion to other states.

Mrs. Sarah David Areo, the FCT State Diaspora Focal Point Officer, commended the Super Eagles Captain for his charitable work and stated that the FCT is willing to assist Musa with his future endeavours, especially those in Abuja.

In addition to celebrating Musa’s achievements, Dabiri-Erewa extended congratulations to the entire Super Eagles team for their commendable performance, securing second place in the AFCON 2023 tournament held in Cote D’Ivoire.
