Nigeria Football Federation Set to Host D-License Coaching Course in Abuja.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is gearing up to conduct a comprehensive D-License coaching course in the Federal Capital, Abuja, commencing on Monday, March 4th, 2024.
Approved by the continental football-governing body CAF, the seven-day course will see the participation of 40 coaches from various regions of the country.
The practical and theoretical sessions will take place at the NFF/FIFA Goal Project located at Package B of the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
A distinguished lineup of resource persons has been assembled for the course, including NFF Technical Director and former Super Eagles’ captain and coach, Augustine Eguavoen; respected Coach Henry Abiodun; Director of Sports Medicine of the Federal Ministry of Sports Development, Dr. Paul Onyeudo; former Super Eagles’ star Edema Fuludu; former FIFA referee and special assistant to the NFF General Secretary, Mohammed Adebayo Ameenu; and former deputy director, technical of the NFF, Dr. Robinson Okosun.
The course curriculum covers various aspects of coaching, with Eguavoen addressing the ‘Physiology of Football,’ Onyeudo focusing on ‘First Aid and Injury,’ Dr. Okosun shedding light on ‘Psychology,’ and Ameenu discussing ‘Child Safeguarding.’ Coaches Ibrahim Gwadabe and Lawrence Ndak will also contribute as resource persons.
Last year, the NFF successfully organized a CAF coaching instructors’ course, and plans are already underway to host higher-grade coaching courses later this year.
This initiative underscores the NFF’s commitment to developing and enhancing coaching standards across the country, ultimately contributing to the growth and advancement of football in Nigeria.
