The commencement of the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage season sees Nigerian pilgrims embarking on their sacred journey, with the first batch arriving safely in Madina, Saudi Arabia.
Among the pilgrims were individuals from Jega and Arewa Local Government Areas of Kebbi State, Nigeria, accompanied by officials from the State Pilgrims Welfare Board.
Expressing gratitude towards their state governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, and the Executive Chairman of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Faruku Aliyu-Enabo, the pilgrims hailed the efforts that ensured the successful take-off of their inaugural flight.
Alhaji Hussaini Argungu, a board member of the state pilgrims board, praised the hospitality of the cabin crew aboard the Saudi Arabian plane, which provided passengers with food and ensured their comfort throughout the journey. Furthermore, the authorities of Saudi Arabia organized a warm welcome for the Nigerian pilgrims, arranging VIP vehicles to transport them to prestigious five-star hotels.
Argungu encouraged pilgrims to seize the opportunity of being in close proximity to the Holy Prophet (SAW) mosque, emphasizing the spiritual rewards of performing prayers there. He noted, “If you pray in the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) Mosque, you will earn a reward of 1,000 prayers in other Mosques around the world except Harami and Baitul Muqaddas mosques.”
Alhaji Isa Assalafi, a member of the 2024 Hajj Committee in Kebbi, attributed the success of the pilgrimage preparations to the unwavering support of the governor, who facilitated all matters related to Hajj operations.
