The 19th AELEX Annual Lecture will take place on October 14, 2025, in Lagos, with the theme “Rule of Law and Economic Development: The Nigerian Experience”.
This highly anticipated event aims to provide practical recommendations on how strengthening the rule of law can directly improve economic outcomes in Nigeria.
Former Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON, will deliver the keynote address, while a high-level panel session will feature distinguished discussants, including Dr. Chinyere Almona, Director General of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Dr. Wale Babalakin, OFR, SAN, Chairman of Bi-Courtney Group of Companies; Mr. Bismarck Rewane, Managing Director of Financial Derivatives Company Ltd; and Dr. Reuben Abati, a renowned Journalist and Public Affairs Analyst.
According to Adedapo Tunde-Olowu, SAN, Managing Partner of AELEX Law Firm, “The rule of law is not just a legal principle; it is the foundation upon which economies are built.” He emphasized that a predictable and just legal system can drive investment, innovation, and growth in Nigeria.
