NNL Strikes deal with SLTV  for Super-8 live televising, a move that has been lauded by pundits and fans alike.

The Nigeria National League (NNL) has announced an exciting partnership with Metrodigital (SLTV) to broadcast all matches of the upcoming NNL Super 8 live. This collaboration aims to bring the second-tier league closer to its supporters by airing the matches on SLTV’s dedicated satellite channel, A N FOOTBALL.

The agreement was confirmed in a letter of consent from Paul Osuji, Ph.D., Head of Operations at Metrodigital, following a series of meetings with the NNL management. SLTV will pick up the broadcast signals from Sports Light Hub, a streaming service already partnered with NNL, while Radio Nigeria will provide the match commentaries.

“Consequent upon our physical meetings with you and subsequent telephone conversations, Metrodigital (SLTV) consents to the NNL broadcast partnership for the Super 8 competition. With this acceptance, Metrodigital will broadcast the event live from your Facebook stream and Radio Nigeria commentaries as agreed,” stated Osuji.

SLTV has committed to promoting sports, particularly football, in Nigeria, and this partnership is seen as a significant step in that direction.

Expressing his enthusiasm, NNL Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel Attah praised the collaboration, highlighting its importance in bringing the league to a wider audience. “I must commend the company for partnering with us. You’re aware that we’re in a digital age and the company accepting to take the matches live will enable fans to watch all the matches from the comfort of their homes, on their mobile networks, offices, or business places,” Attah said.

Attah emphasized that this partnership is part of the NNL board’s broader strategy to enhance the league’s visibility and accessibility. He assured that the board will continue to make efforts to improve the league and strengthen its relationship with Metrodigital.

He also encouraged Nigerians to subscribe to the affordable SLTV dish, supporting an indigenous company that is adding significant value to the country’s football scene.

The NNL Super 8, scheduled to take place from June 7-14 in Enugu, is an annual competition that determines the overall champion of the second-tier league and the teams that will be promoted to the elite league. The eight teams that have qualified for the championship are Nasarawa Utd, Sporting Supreme of Abuja, Sokoto Utd, El-Kanemi Warriors, Beyond Limit FC, Madiba FC, Inter Lagos, and Ikorodu Utd.

This partnership promises to make the NNL Super 8 more accessible and enjoyable for football fans across Nigeria, marking a new era in the league’s broadcast coverage.
