NNPC Has Responded To All 19 Queries Over Unaccounted N210trn – Senate

The Senate has confirmed that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, has provided comprehensive responses to all 19 audit queries raised over the alleged unaccounted N210 trillion in crude oil transactions.

Chairman of the Senate Public Accounts Committee, Senator Aliyu Wadada, disclosed this on Tuesday in Abuja during the committee’s review of the 2016–2021 Auditor-General’s report.

Wadada said the queries were issued by the Auditor-General of the Federation over discrepancies in crude oil sales, remittances, and subsidy deductions involving NNPCL during the specified period.

He explained that the committee had received detailed documentation and clarifications from the NNPCL, adding that the responses were currently under review by the Office of the Auditor-General and the committee’s technical team.

According to him, “All 19 queries raised against NNPCL have been duly responded to. The company has submitted documents to back its explanations, and we are in the process of verifying them to ensure accuracy and accountability.”

The lawmaker reaffirmed the Senate’s commitment to transparency and financial discipline in the management of public resources, assuring Nigerians that the committee would ensure full compliance with constitutional audit requirements.
