Startimes/NPFL Round-Up: Gombe United Relegated, Enyimba Thrashes Rivers United in Aba.

Gombe United’s fate in the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has been sealed with relegation after a disheartening 2-0 home defeat to Sunshine Stars. Goals from Promise Awosanmi and Lucky Nwafor compounded Gombe United’s woes and ensured Sunshine Stars’ survival in the league.

In a thrilling encounter in Aba, Enyimba FC, led by coach Yemi Olanrewaju, delivered a masterclass performance to dismantle Rivers United 4-1 at the Enyimba Stadium. This victory showcased Enyimba’s dominance and tactical prowess on the field.

Fidelis Ilechukwu’s Rangers International secured a crucial point on the road by holding Sporting Lagos to a goalless draw in Lagos, keeping their title aspirations alive. Meanwhile, Niger Tornadoes managed to claw back from behind to earn a draw against Kwara United.





Bayelsa United edged out Plateau United in a closely contested match, finishing 3-2 in favor of the home side. Other notable results included Remo Stars’ 2-1 victory over Kano Pillars and Doma United’s 1-0 triumph against Lobi Stars. Bendel Insurance secured a solid 2-0 win over Katsina United.

The match day close up fixture saw an emphatic performance from Shooting Stars, who crushed Abia Warriors 4-0, showcasing their attacking prowess.
