NPFL: Result Update From Matchday 21 As Kano Pillars Thrashed Sunshine 5:1 In Kano

Enugu Rangers secured an important away victory on Saturday, defeating Doma United 1-0 at the Pantami Township Stadium. Collins Ugwueze scored the lone goal of the match in the 30th minute, extending Rangers’ winning streak to three consecutive games.

 

NPFL review: Far away in Kano, Sunshine Stars of Akure were walloped 5:1 by Kano Pillars, who delivered a dominant performance, at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Sunday. Ibrahim Mustapha scored twice, with Rabiu Ali, Auwalu Ali, and Mustapha Umar adding to the tally. The impressive victory propels Kano Pillars to the 3rd position on the league table, maintaining an unbeaten streak in their last six matches.

 





Bayelsa United also clinched an away win, defeating Akwa United 1-0 courtesy of Eyong Ofem’s goal in the 78th minute. This victory marks Bayelsa United’s first consecutive wins of the season.

 

In other matches, Plateau United and Shooting Stars of Ibadan played out a goalless draw, while Lobi Stars secured a 1-0 victory over Heartland of Owerri, with Kumanga Suur netting the winning goal in the 68th minute.

 

Gombe United boosted their survival hopes with a 2-0 win against Sporting Lagos, ending their five-game winless run. Niger Tornadoes claimed a 1-0 victory over Abia Warriors, and champions Enyimba settled for a goalless draw against Bendel Insurance.

 

Additionally, Kwara United and Katsina United played to a 1-1 draw, with Adeshina Gata opening the scoring for the home team before Michael Ibe equalized for Katsina United with a direct corner kick goal.
