Ogun ADC Chairman Warns Against Misinformation On Mark, Aregbesola Leadership

The Ogun State Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Otunba Olufemi Soluade, has issued a stern warning to individuals attempting to destabilize the party.

This warning follows the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) recent recognition of Senator David Mark and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as the party’s new National Chairman and National Secretary, respectively. Soluade insists that INEC’s recognition settles all questions of legitimacy, cautioning that contrary claims are “misleading and harmful to the party’s progress.”

Soluade urges party members to align with the new leadership and prioritize collective goals over personal ambitions, emphasizing that disorganization only benefits rival parties ahead of the 2027 general elections. He stresses the importance of unity and discipline within the party, warning that fake news and misinformation can be detrimental to the party’s progress.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullah, clarified that the Federal High Court in Abuja refused an ex-parte application against Mark and Aregbesola on September 4, 2025. Instead, the court directed the defendants to be notified and adjourned the matter to September 15, 2025. Soluade stated, “The Federal High Court never granted any injunction against Senator David Mark and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola. Those sponsoring these lies are simply frustrated individuals seeking relevance.”

Soluade appeals for discipline and respect for due process within the party, warning the media to be vigilant in verifying reports. “Fake news is the last resort of desperate mischief makers. Nigerians deserve truth, not deception,” he stated, reassuring members that the party remains united under Mark and Aregbesola’s leadership.
