In a shocking turn of events, Banji Ajaka, the Commissioner for Health in Ondo State, was subjected to a brutal assault by irate members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at Ugbo Ward 3, Ilaje local government area.

The incident unfolded amidst heated demands from APC members for the disclosure of a crucial result sheet, with Ajaka becoming the unfortunate focal point of their fury.

According to eyewitness accounts, tension escalated rapidly as electoral officers implicated Ajaka in the disappearance of the result sheet. The situation took a violent turn when enraged APC members turned their frustration towards the commissioner, alleging his complicity in withholding the critical document.

Describing the chaotic scene, a witness recounted, “Hon Ajaka, the Commissioner for Health, received a severe beating in his hometown, following accusations levelled against him by INEC officers and members of the Aiyedatiwa camp. It was apparent that the system had been compromised, with the reporting sheet mysteriously removed from the materials entrusted to certain individuals.”

The atmosphere in Ugbo Ward 3 was described as tumultuous, with supporters of Chief Olusola Oke expressing vehement disapproval of the unfolding situation. Many residents voiced their frustration, firmly asserting their belief that it was Chief Olusola Oke’s rightful time to lead the state.

Confirming the distressing incident, Ajaka himself admitted to being targeted due to allegations of concealing the result sheet. He recounted the harrowing experience of being overwhelmed by the mob while attempting to clarify his position.

The incident has sent shockwaves across Ondo State, highlighting the volatile nature of political tensions and the potential for violence during electoral processes. Authorities are now faced with the urgent task of addressing the fallout from this disturbing episode, while residents grapple with the implications for the state’s political landscape.
