Only United APC Can Take Back Oyo From PDP – Adelabu

The Minister of Power and 2027 governorship hopeful in Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has emphasized that only a united All Progressives Congress (APC) can reclaim power from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

Speaking during a consultation visit to APC leaders and members in the Ibarapa region, Adelabu called for reconciliation among party members, urging them to set aside personal differences and work together for the success of the party ahead of the next election. He stressed that unity remains the only way for the APC to return Oyo State to what he described as the “progressive fold.”

According to him, Oyo State has always been known for progressive leadership and must not continue under the PDP. “No party can compete with the APC in this state. We are progressives, and our party must remain one and united,” Adelabu declared. He assured members that his focus is to strengthen the party’s structure across all local governments to ensure victory in 2027.

Addressing concerns raised by residents, the minister announced that the federal government had secured funds for the completion of three major electricity substations in the Ibarapa region. “Electricity in Ibarapa is a major concern to me. I will complete the three substations before the end of my tenure as Minister of Power,” he said. Adelabu added that work on the projects would commence within a week and promised to provide more solar-powered streetlights across the area.

He also pledged that if elected governor, his administration would prioritize infrastructure development, particularly road rehabilitation in the Ibarapa zone. He said these efforts would enhance economic growth and improve the living standards of residents.

Adelabu further appealed to the people of Oyo State to continue supporting President Bola Tinubu’s administration, noting that the president “loves the country and is working hard to ease the current economic challenges.” Party members at the event expressed confidence in Adelabu’s leadership and vowed to rally behind him to ensure APC’s victory in the 2027 polls.
