Peter Obi And Goodluck Jonathan Hold Closed-Door Meeting In Abuja

Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi met with ex-President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja today.

Obi shared details of the meeting on his X handle, describing Jonathan as an “elder brother, statesman, and leader”. According to Obi, “Today in Abuja, I met with my very dear elder brother, statesman, and leader, former President Goodluck Jonathan @GEJonathan. We had a fruitful closed-door meeting and discussed the state of our dear nation.” -PO.

The meeting, which took place behind closed doors, focused on national issues and the current state of Nigeria. Obi characterized the meeting as “fruitful”, sparking interest in the potential outcomes of their discussion.

The closed-door meeting has sparked speculation about potential collaboration between the two leaders, particularly with the 2027 presidential elections on the horizon. Some analysts believe their meeting could signal possible cooperation between the Labour Party and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to challenge President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
