Police Launch Investigation Into Mysterious Disappearance Of Two Adekunle Ajasin University Students.

Authorities in Ondo State have initiated a thorough investigation into the troubling disappearance of two second-year students from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), who have been missing for over two weeks. The students, identified as Andrel Eloho Okah, studying History and International Studies, and John Friday Abba, have sparked widespread concern among their peers, family members, and the university community.

The case came to light after fellow students reported the pair’s absence to both the university management and the Ondo State Police Command. According to a student, Ajibola, who spoke to local media, the two were close friends, and repeated attempts to contact them via their mobile phones have been unsuccessful. “Their sudden disappearance is deeply worrying. We’ve alerted the school and the police, but we’re yet to see the response we need,” he said, reflecting the growing anxiety on campus.

The Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed that the matter has been reported and is under active investigation. While specific details about the progress of the probe remain limited, a source within the university management revealed that the institution is working closely with law enforcement to uncover the circumstances surrounding the students’ disappearance. “We’re aware of the situation and are collaborating with the police to explore all possible leads,” the source stated, adding that certain “suspicious activities” among some students are also being examined.

The university community has been gripped by tension, with students expressing frustration over the lack of immediate answers. Some have dismissed suggestions from authorities that the missing students might be on holiday, insisting that their prolonged absence without communication is highly unusual. Family members of Okah and Abba have also joined the effort, launching independent searches and lodging formal complaints with security agencies to expedite the investigation.

The case has drawn significant attention on social media, with posts on X reflecting the urgency felt by students and the wider public. Many have called for swift action, urging the police to deploy all necessary resources to locate the missing undergraduates. The university has assured the community that it is monitoring the situation closely and has pledged full cooperation with the authorities.

This development has heightened concerns about student safety in Akungba-Akoko, prompting calls for enhanced security measures on and around the AAUA campus. As the investigation continues, the university and police are appealing to the public for any information that could help locate Andrel Eloho Okah and John Friday Abba, offering hope to their families and friends who anxiously await their safe return.
