Abia Warriors Prepared for President Federation Cup Final Showdown.

 

President FA Cup Final Showdown: Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia is gearing up for the final of Nigeria’s oldest football competition, the President Federation Cup, formerly known as the FA Cup. The team is set to face off against former winners, El-Kanemi Warriors Football Club of Maiduguri, in a highly anticipated match.

 





The players are in high spirits, focused on securing their first major silverware. The atmosphere in the camp is one of optimism and determination.

 

Head Coach Bethel Oji expressed his excitement about reaching the final, stating, “I am very happy to be in the final of a major tournament as a coach. My joy will be fulfilled if we win the trophy as a team.”

 

Forward Samson Obi emphasised the importance of the match, saying, “We aim for nothing less than the continental ticket because we all know what is at stake. We can’t afford to lose this game.”

 

Collins Nwoburuoke shared his pride in the team’s hard work and the support from their fans, saying, “It’s an incredible feeling, and we’re extremely proud of our team’s hard work and determination. We are not just playing for ourselves but also for our fans, our community, and everyone who has supported us along the way. We are ready to give our all and bring home the cup.”

 

He also called on the fans to show their support, adding, “To our amazing Warriors fans, we hear you loud and clear! Your unwavering support and energy have driven us to this historic moment. Let’s make this momentous occasion one to remember! Let’s fill the stadium with our colours, our chants, and our unrelenting spirit! Together, we can make history and bring home the cup.”

 

Defender Ali Ishaku highlighted the team’s readiness and faith, saying, “The feeling is massive because all the boys are fired up. Our fans can rest assured that with God, all things are possible, and I believe we will bring the cup home for them because God is involved. God bless them for their support.”

 

Midfielder Sunday Megwo echoed the sentiment, adding, “We are very happy to reach the final. We will put forth all our efforts to bring the trophy back home.”

 

The final match will take place today, Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 4 pm at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
