President Tinubu Appoints Six New Chief Medical Directors For Federal Hospitals.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of six new Chief Medical Directors (CMDs) for federal hospitals across the country, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to improving healthcare services.
The appointments, announced on Friday, cover hospitals in Akure, Gombe, Azare, Lafia, Maiduguri, and Kafanchan.
Professor Olusegun Sylvester Ojo has been named as the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Akure, Ondo State.
In Gombe, Professor Yusuf Mohammed Abdullahi will continue in his role as the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe.
Dr Dauda Abubakar Katagum, who had been serving as the Acting Chief Medical Director of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Azare, Bauchi State, has now been confirmed as the substantive CMD.
Dr Ikrama Hassan has been appointed as the Chief Medical Director of the newly upgraded Federal Teaching Hospital in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
Dr Ali Mohammed Ramat, a distinguished Consultant Orthopaedic and Spine Surgeon, has been named as the Chief Medical Director of the newly established National Orthopaedic Hospital in Maiduguri, Borno State.
Additionally, Dr Haruna Abubakar Shehu, a Consultant Family Physician, will assume the role of Chief Medical Director at the newly established Federal Medical Centre, Kafanchan, Kaduna State.
These appointments reflect the government’s efforts to strengthen leadership in the healthcare sector and enhance medical service delivery in the country.
