President Tinubu has jetted off to Paris, France, for a private visit, marking his third international trip since assuming office eight months ago.
The departure, announced by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, comes on the heels of a bilateral meeting with the American Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Tinubu’s previous visits to Paris have been strategically aligned with global initiatives. In June 2023, shortly after taking office, he participated in the Paris Summit for the New Global Financial Pact.
The focus was on addressing the aftermath of climate change, energy crises, and the lingering impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. This trip served as a platform for Tinubu to review and sign a pact prioritizing support and investment in vulnerable countries.
Notably, in September 2023, the President spent time in New York, USA, engaging with world leaders during the 78th United Nations General Assembly.
Subsequently, he extended his global footprint by visiting Paris, further emphasizing the international significance of his engagements.
While the reasons for the current private visit remain undisclosed, Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria in the first week of February 2024.
