The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved and released a list of 10,000 successful applicants for recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force, including both constable and specialist cadres.
The recruitment process commenced with online applications from October 15, 2023, to November 26, 2023. During this period, a total of 609,886 applications were received, out of which 416,323 applicants met the requirements and advanced to the second stage.This stage involved physical and document screening conducted across the country from January 8 to January 29, 2024.
After the physical screening, 171,956 applicants were shortlisted for computer-based tests administered by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB). From these tests, the top 15,447 general duty applicants were invited for medical screening, along with 55,645 specialist candidates who also underwent practical tests and medical evaluations.
Following these comprehensive evaluations, 9,000 applicants were approved for general duty roles, while 1,000 were selected for specialist positions.
The PSC stated that the selection process ensured fair representation from Nigeria’s 774 local government areas, as recommended by the National Assembly.
PSC Chairman Dr. Solomon Arase highlighted the integrity, transparency, and excellence that characterized the recruitment process. He expressed optimism about the future of Nigeria’s security, emphasizing that the newly recruited individuals represent the best of Nigeria’s talent pool.
Successful candidates are advised to check their application status on the PSC’s dedicated webpage, in compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act of 2023, to protect their personal data.
