Rainfall Causes Flight Delays For Air Peace Travelers

Air Peace has announced that some of its flights across Nigeria would experience delays following heavy rainfall in Lagos and Port Harcourt.

In a statement on Tuesday, the airline’s spokesperson, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, said that while adverse weather conditions had disrupted schedules, passenger safety remained the airline’s top priority.

“We wish to inform you that due to the heavy downpour of rain in Lagos this morning, some flights across our operating networks will be delayed,” Efe said.

He added that the airline was working to minimize the disruptions.

“While weather is beyond our control and safety remains our utmost priority, we appeal for your understanding as we manage the disruptions as best as we can and get you to your destinations safely,” he said.

Passengers seeking updated flight schedules were advised to contact the airline via email or phone.

“Safety is not just a priority but a core commitment. We remain dedicated to upholding the highest safety standards for our passengers and crew,” the statement added.

The announcement comes amid widespread rainfall across the country. The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) had forecasted thunderstorms and moderate rains from Monday to Wednesday. The northern region is expected to experience isolated thunderstorms and moderate rain, with potential flash floods in Adamawa, Taraba, and Gombe states.

In the central region, moderate rainfall is expected over Niger, Kogi, Kwara, the FCT, and Benue, while the southern region is forecasted to have cloudy skies with moderate rain in Ekiti, Ondo, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River states.
