Real Madrid Players Set For €1 Million Bonus Each If They Win 2025 FIFA Club World Cup

Real Madrid Players Set For €1 Million Bonus Each If They Win 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

In a bold move to incentivise their star-studded squad, Real Madrid have announced that each player will receive a staggering €1 million bonus should they emerge victorious in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. The news, reported by Spanish outlet Diario AS, underscores the club’s determination to claim the inaugural expanded tournament, which will take place in the United States from 14 June to 13 July 2025.

The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup marks a significant evolution of the competition, expanding from its previous seven-team format to a 32-team spectacle, mirroring the structure of the FIFA World Cup. Real Madrid, record five-time winners of the tournament and reigning UEFA Champions League champions, are among the favourites to lift the trophy. The club’s hierarchy, led by president Florentino Pérez, sees the event as a landmark opportunity to cement their legacy by becoming the first champions of the new format.

The financial incentive is part of Real Madrid’s strategy to motivate their players amid a gruelling schedule and a transitional period under new manager Xabi Alonso, who replaced Carlo Ancelotti earlier this year. The €1 million bonus per player reflects the significant prize money on offer, with reports suggesting the club could earn up to €145 million if they win the tournament. This includes a guaranteed €35 million for participation, with additional payouts for progressing through each stage, culminating in €37 million for the champions.

Real Madrid’s squad, bolstered by high-profile signings such as Trent Alexander-Arnold and Álvaro Carreras, will face stiff competition in Group H, which includes Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal, Mexico’s Pachuca, and Austria’s Red Bull Salzburg. Despite a challenging 2024-25 season that saw them fall short of major silverware, the club’s attacking trio of Vinícius Júnior, Kylian Mbappé, and Rodrygo, combined with a robust midfield led by Jude Bellingham, makes them a formidable force.

The announcement has sparked excitement among fans and players alike, with the promise of both prestige and substantial financial rewards driving the team’s ambitions. Xabi Alonso, who will make his managerial debut for Real Madrid at the tournament, has expressed confidence in his squad’s ability to perform. “We’re aiming to make history,” he told reporters, highlighting the club’s focus on the competition.

However, the hefty bonuses have also raised eyebrows, with some questioning the financial disparity between clubs in the tournament. While Real Madrid’s deep pockets allow for such lavish incentives, other teams, particularly from less affluent confederations, face challenges in matching such rewards. For instance, posts on X have highlighted ongoing disputes in Major League Soccer over player bonuses, with players reportedly seeking a larger share of the prize money.

As the tournament approaches, all eyes will be on Real Madrid to see if they can live up to expectations and secure the title—and the lucrative €1 million bonuses for their players. With a blend of youth, experience, and world-class talent, Los Blancos are poised to make a strong case for global supremacy at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
