Sanwo-Olu Engages Turkish Construction Giant For Lekki-Epe Airport Project.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is currently on a working visit to Istanbul, Turkey, where he is leading a delegation to explore potential collaboration with Summa Group, a major player in the global construction sector. The focus of the discussions is the Lekki-Epe International Airport project, a key infrastructure initiative aimed at improving connectivity in Lagos State.

The visit was announced via the X account of the Lagos Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, on Wednesday, 9th October. The post highlighted the Governor’s efforts to engage with Summa Group’s executives in a bid to leverage their expertise for the ambitious airport development.

The statement reads: “Lagos State Governor #jidesanwoolu is on a working visit to Istanbul, Turkey, leading a team from the State to engage with executives of a globally recognised organisation, Summa Group, a key player in the construction sector, for the Lekki-Epe International Airport.

“The Lekki-Epe International Airport will significantly improve connectivity in Lagos State and alleviate congestion at Murtala Mohammed International Airport.”

During the visit, Selim Bora, Chairman of Summa International Construction Inc., provided a tour of the company’s ongoing projects, showcasing their extensive experience in large-scale infrastructure delivery. This visit follows a series of similar engagements undertaken by Governor Sanwo-Olu as part of his commitment to enhancing the lives of Lagosians and leaving a lasting infrastructural legacy.

The Lekki-Epe International Airport is expected to play a pivotal role in boosting the economy and easing the strain on the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, addressing the growing demand for air travel in Lagos.
