Semi Ajayi the Nigeria and West Bromich Albion Defender has identified the beautiful thing about the Super Eagles’ team under head coach, Jose Peseiro in the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Cote d’Ivoire.
Semi Ajayi the West Brom star said the Super Eagles team under the guidance of Peseiro has so many weapons.
According to the former Arsenal schoolboy, you can’t put all your attention on one player in the Super Eagles squad because everyone has the ability to score or create assists.
Recall that Nigeria’s goals at the AFCON have come from different players like Victor Osimhen, William Troost-Ekong and Ademola Lookman, with the likes of Calvin Bassey and Moses Simon providing an assist each.
“I think the beauty of this team is that we’ve got so many weapons,” Ajayi was quoted by Soccernet as saying ahead of Nigeria’s semi-final clash with the Bafana Bafana of South Africa on Wednesday.
“You can’t put all your attention on one person because we have so many people who are capable of creating and scoring.
We are not done yet. We’ve still got another game on Wednesday [against South Africa] and hopefully another game on Sunday.
“We came here to win, so full focus goes towards Wednesday now.”
The Defender has been impressive so far and he’ll definitely have more minutes to his name when Nigeria faces the Bafana Bafana of South Africa on Wednesday 6pm Nigerian time.
