Senate Committee Commends JAMB’s Surveillance Measures For 2025 UTME.
The Senate Committee on Education has praised the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for its effective surveillance arrangements during the ongoing 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Chairman of the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFund, Senator Muntari Dandutse, gave the commendation on Friday while leading a delegation to monitor the examination at Government Secondary School, Wuse Zone 3.
The UTME, which began on 24 April 2025, is scheduled to conclude on 5 May 2025.
Senator Dandutse, alongside other committee members, expressed satisfaction with JAMB’s extensive use of CCTV and advanced technological measures to enhance transparency, security, and the overall integrity of the examination process.
He lauded the board’s commitment to preventing malpractices, noting that the systems in place would help uphold high standards among candidates.
The lawmaker further emphasised that the committee’s visit formed part of its oversight responsibilities, aimed at promoting accountability and ensuring that examinations are conducted with the utmost fairness and credibility.
JAMB’s proactive approach has been widely acknowledged as a positive step towards maintaining the sanctity of Nigeria’s tertiary education admission processes.
