Six Signs You Are Overeating

You need to cut your portions.

We all eat more than we should at some point. But it’s also possible to be overeating every now and then without even realizing it. Overeating leads to obesity which puts you at the risk of different health conditions such as diabetes and heart diseases.

So how do you know if you are just eating enough or you are eating more than you should? Here are some signs:

1. You avoid social events that involve food

Do you always find it shameful to eat with your colleagues or friends because you are afraid that they will judge your eating habits? Or do you feel like they are looking at your plate surprisingly? It’s probably because you eat so much when alone but you don’t want people to judge you.

2. You feel stuffed after eating

When you eat more than you should, your stomach gets so stuffed that breathing, bending or doing simple chores become a problem. If you always have to deal with such situations, then you have been overeating and you need to stop.

3. You eat when you are idle

If the first thing that comes to your mind whenever you feel bored is to reach for a burger, you have a problem. You are eating just because you want something to keep you busy but not because your body asked for it. In short, you are overeating.

4. You use food to deal with your frustrations

If you use food as your stress reliever, you need to be very careful because you could be eating more than you should without even noticing it. Do something that excites you whenever you are stressed instead of eating.

5. You continue eating even after you are satisfied

You should put your fork down the moment you feel you are full. If you continue eating just because the food is too delicious, you end up overeating.

6. You don’t enjoy the meal anymore

The first few minutes of eating are usually exciting and you enjoy every bite. As time passes though, you start losing interest. If you do not feel like eating your food anymore but still go on eating, what you will be doing is overeating.
