Sports Commission Chairman Shehu Dikko Honoured With Prestigious Fellowship.

Shehu Dikko, the newly appointed Chairman of the Sports Commission, celebrated a significant professional milestone on Friday, 29 November 2024, as he was conferred with the Fellowship of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (FNIQS). This honorary title, the highest accolade within the profession, was awarded during the Annual General Meeting of the NIQS in Port Harcourt.

The award recognises Shehu Dikko’s outstanding contributions to the Quantity Surveying profession over a distinguished career spanning 35 years. In his acceptance speech, he expressed profound gratitude to NIQS President QS Kene C. Nzekwe, FNIQS, and the Institute’s leadership for acknowledging his efforts in advancing the field and his commitment to public service.

Dikko paid special tribute to his elder brother, Mallam Hussain Dikko, FNIQS, whose mentorship and exemplary leadership played a pivotal role in his professional journey. Mallam Hussain Dikko has an illustrious career in the profession, having served as NIQS President (2000-2002), President of the Quantity Surveyors Registration Board of Nigeria (2010-2017), and currently holding the position of Chairman of the NIQS Incorporated Board of Trustees (2024-2034).

Reflecting on his elder brother’s guidance, Shehu Dikko credited him with shaping his administrative and professional acumen, enabling him to excel in his various roles.

The Fellowship award not only highlights Shehu Dikko’s dedication to the Quantity Surveying profession but also celebrates his excellence in leadership and service. These qualities, coupled with his extensive professional experience, are assets he now brings to his position as Chairman of the Sports Commission.

This recognition stands as a testament to Shehu Dikko’s commitment to excellence and his contributions to both his profession and public service.
