Nigeria’s Super Falcons have secured their first Olympic qualification in 16 years.
In a determined fashion, the Super Falcons held South Africa to a 0-0 draw away from home, following a 1-0 victory in the first leg played at home to win 1:0 on aggregate.
Following the giant stride, Senator John Owan Enoh, the Honourable Minister of Sports Development, praised the Super Falcons for their remarkable achievement in qualifying for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. He lauded their bold and tireless performance, which resulted in a goalless draw in Pretoria and a 1-0 aggregate win.
This victory marks Nigeria’s return to the Olympic stage after a 16-year absence since 2008, highlighting the team’s resilience and determination against their rivals.
Senator Enoh expressed immense pride in the Super Falcons’ accomplishment, emphasizing that their hard work and teamwork deserved the Olympic ticket. He urged all Nigerians to support and rally behind the team as they prepare to represent the country with pride and determination in Paris 2024.
