President Bola Tinubu is currently engaged in a private meeting with Rivers State Governor, Sir Sim Fubara, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Governor Fubara arrived at the seat of power around 6:20 pm, dressed in a white caftan and black cap. This marks his first audience with President Tinubu following his six-month suspension and the recent lifting of the state of emergency in Rivers State on September 18, 2025.
Earlier this year, on March 18, President Tinubu had declared a state of emergency in Rivers State, suspended its democratic structures, and appointed a sole administrator to manage the state’s affairs.
At the time of reporting, the agenda of the meeting between the President and the Rivers governor has not been disclosed.
Governor Fubara arrived shortly after President Tinubu held separate meetings with several key officials, including Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq of Kwara State, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abass, FIRS Executive Chairman Zacch Adedeji, and Finance Minister Wale Edun.
