Chippa United’s goalkeeper coach, Sean Louw, has confirmed that Super Eagles stopper Stanley Nwabali will not be returning to the club. Nwabali’s future with the South African side has been uncertain since his impressive performances for Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year.
Following Nigeria’s loss to the hosts, Ivory Coast, in the AFCON final, Nwabali continued to excel for Chippa United. He played a pivotal role in the team’s journey to the Nedbank Cup semi-final and maintained a remarkable total of 12 clean sheets across all competitions.
“Nwabali will not be coming back,” stated Louw, putting an end to speculation regarding the goalkeeper’s future with Chippa United. The Nigerian international’s outstanding form has undoubtedly attracted attention.
