Uba Sani Pledges 95% Kaduna Votes For APC In 2027

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has promised that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will secure at least 95 percent of votes in the state during the 2027 general elections.

He made this declaration at a mega rally held at Murtala Mohammed Square in Kaduna, where thousands of new members defected from opposition parties to join the ruling APC.

Addressing the excited crowd, Governor Sani said the wave of defections reflected the people’s confidence in his administration’s leadership and inclusive governance. “We don’t have any opposition in Kaduna,” he stated. “I told President Bola Tinubu months ago that we were targeting 80 percent of the votes, but today, I can boldly say Kaduna will deliver 95 percent of its total votes to the APC in 2027.”

The rally marked a significant political shift as four members of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, five federal lawmakers, and thousands of their supporters officially crossed over from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC. With the new entrants, the APC now controls 13 out of 16 federal constituencies and holds a majority of 26 members in the State Assembly compared to the PDP’s eight.

Governor Sani attributed the growing support to his administration’s efforts in promoting peace, justice, and unity among the state’s diverse communities. “Our diversity is our strength. Since assuming office, Kaduna has not witnessed any ethno-religious crisis because we have built bridges across divides. Poverty doesn’t recognize tribe or religion our politics must be about unity,” he emphasized.

He assured the new members that they would be treated equally, adding, “Those who joined us today and those who’ve been with us from the beginning will be treated the same way. The APC in Kaduna is one family.”

The rally was attended by top APC leaders, including National Chairman Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and Minister of Environment Balarabe Abbas Lawal. Speaker Abbas praised the party’s growing dominance, saying, “From Zone 1 to Zone 3, APC is now the party to beat.”
