Nigerian social commentator Verydarkman has reacted to Pastor Jerry Eze’s staggering ₦10.6 billion YouTube earnings.
Pastor Eze, founder of Streams of Joy International, has been named Nigeria’s highest-earning YouTuber for the second consecutive year, according to Playboard, a global YouTube analytics platform.
Verydarkman questioned whether Pastor Eze should be considered a content creator like himself, given the nature of his YouTube content. In a post, Verydarkman wrote, “Verydarkman is a content creator; are you also saying Pastor Jerry Eze is a content creator??? VDM is using people’s problems as content to get views and get paid. Will you say Pastor Jerry Eze is praying for people to get YouTube money and views to cash out? Huh.” This statement highlights the differences in their content styles, with Verydarkman implying that Pastor Eze’s earnings are more spiritual in nature.
Pastor Jerry Eze’s YouTube channel, New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD), has gained massive popularity, with over 80 million viewers expected in 2025 alone. His daily livestreamed prayer sessions have reportedly generated significant earnings, with estimates suggesting he makes around ₦1.94 million daily and ₦47.7 million weekly.
The pastor’s success on YouTube is undeniable, with 2.87 million subscribers and over 2,900 uploaded videos. His channel’s earnings have sparked discussions about the monetization of faith-based content on digital platforms.
