Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has taken a swipe at former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Sokoto State governor Aminu Tambuwal, describing them as “betrayers” and “consistently inconsistent” politicians.
Wike accused the duo of lacking political loyalty, pointing to their history of switching parties for personal ambition. “When you are a consistent betrayer, what do you expect? Birds of the same feather flock together,” he said.
He highlighted Atiku’s repeated moves between political parties from the PDP to ACN, then APC, and back to PDP, as well as his several unsuccessful presidential bids. On Tambuwal, Wike recalled similar party crossovers, dismissing his claims of political integrity.
In contrast, Wike defended his own record, noting that he has remained with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) since 1999. According to him, that consistency underscores his credibility compared to those he accused of betraying political trust.
Meanwhile, Wike’s media aide Lere Olayinka also hinted that his principal would respond more formally to Tambuwal’s recent comments, promising to define clearly “what betrayal is and what it means to have integrity.”
