Comrade Abdulhakeem Adegoke Alawuje, founder of the Disciples of Jagaban and a strong supporter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has warned that neither Atiku Abubakar nor Peter Obi can influence the northern region of Nigeria against Tinubu.
Alawuje said political opponents should stop attempting to use ethnic and religious tactics to sway northern voters.
He accused opposition figures of engaging in “underground ethnic and religious politics” and stressed that “every move is being closely monitored.” He added, “There is no political or ethnic scheme you can execute without the awareness of our agents. The North will not be deceived again.”
Reflecting on Tinubu’s 2015 election efforts, Alawuje said the President “traversed the region, convincing millions who once opposed Buhari to support him,” and maintained that this legacy of loyalty will ensure continued northern support for Tinubu in 2027.
Describing the North as “a region of loyalty and honour,” he insisted that the area “will reward Tinubu with its votes again in 2027,” signaling strong confidence in Tinubu’s political influence in the region.
Alawuje criticized Atiku and Obi, claiming that Atiku is pushing a “Northern agenda” while Obi is “hiding behind religious sentiments.” He emphasized that “no propaganda will turn the North against its trusted ally from the Southwest.”
He also praised Tinubu’s economic reforms, quoting a prominent northern leader who said, “Nigeria has pulled back from the brink of economic collapse,” and described Tinubu as “a courageous and visionary leader an economic reformer and a true champion of human development.”
