President Bola Tinubu will embark on a two-nation visit to Johannesburg, South Africa, and Luanda, Angola, starting Wednesday.
He will attend the 20th summit of the G20 Leaders in Johannesburg, invited by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, who currently chairs the G20 group.
The G20 summit, themed ‘Solidarity, Equality, Sustainability,’ will bring together leaders from the world’s top 20 economies, the European Union, the African Union, and financial institutions. President Tinubu will participate in plenary sessions on inclusive and sustainable growth, climate change, and just energy transitions, among others.
The Nigerian President will also hold bilateral meetings to discuss regional and international peace, security, and development, furthering the Renewed Hope Agenda. After the G20 summit, he will proceed to Angola for the AU-EU summit, scheduled for November 24-25.
The AU-EU meeting will gather young leaders, innovators, and civil society organisations to address shared challenges and provide recommendations on climate change, inclusivity, infrastructure, and the digital economy. President Tinubu will be accompanied by top government officials, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and Minister of Finance, Wale Edun.
The visit aims to strengthen Nigeria’s relations with South Africa and Angola, while promoting regional and global cooperation. The G20 and AU-EU summits offer opportunities for President Tinubu to engage with world leaders and discuss key issues affecting Nigeria and the global community.
The Nigerian delegation includes Minister of Solid Minerals, Dele Alake, Minister of Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole, and Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed. The visit underscores Nigeria’s commitment to international cooperation and global leadership.
