In a shocking turn of events, a group of unidentified hoodlums has carried out a brazen kidnapping operation on Friday, targeting no less than 25 members of the Christ Apostolic Church in Oke Igan, Akure, Ondo State.
Reports indicate that the victims, all of whom were members of the church’s choir, were traveling on the Benin-Akure Expressway in the vicinity of Ifon, located in Ose Local Government Area of the state, on Friday evening. They were en route to attend a burial ceremony when the criminals ambushed their vehicle, forcibly seized them, and vanished into the nearby wilderness.
An anonymous source within the church disclosed that the vehicle carrying the victims was subsequently discovered abandoned by the roadside. Local authorities have been alerted to this heinous crime, and the incident has already been reported to the police.
