During the Silver Anniversary celebration of the 11th Emir of Jama’a, Alhaji (Dr) Muhammad Isa Muhammad (CON), the Sultan of Sokoto, Dr. Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has called for justice for the victims of the recent military airstrikes in Tudun Biri village, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, which claimed the lives of over 100 people.

Speaking at the event held at the Emir’s Palace in Kafanchan, Kaduna, the Sultan emphasized the need for justice for the affected families. He stated, “We are here not only to celebrate the emir but to also pray for the emirate and the lives of those killed in Kaduna State. We are going to push for it until justice is served to the people.”

Responding to the tragedy, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, expressed deep regret over the incident, describing it as highly unfortunate.

He assured that thorough investigations would be conducted, and decisive actions would be taken to prevent similar occurrences across the country.

The Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, who serves as the Chairman of the Council of Chiefs and Emirs in Kaduna State, emphasized the importance of traditional rulers and their role in ensuring peace at the grassroots level. He called for unity among the people of Southern Kaduna to foster peace in the region.

The anniversary event brought together dignitaries, including the Chairman of the Council of Emirs and Chiefs in Kaduna State, Emir of Zazzau Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, Emir of Kagara from Niger State, and former governors of Kaduna State, Col. Umar Faruk Ahmad (rtd) and Senator Ahmed Muhammed Makarfi. Also in attendance were chiefs and emirs from various regions in Kaduna State, as well as representatives from Plateau and Nasarawa States.

The Sultan’s call for justice resonates amid ongoing concerns over the tragic incident, and it underscores the need for accountability in addressing such unfortunate occurrences.
