Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp addressed the upcoming challenges as key players Mohamed Salah and Wataru Endo are away for international tournaments in Ivory Coast and Qatar, respectively.
Klopp, preparing for Liverpool’s FA Cup third-round tie against Arsenal, expressed his honesty in not wishing too much success for Salah and Endo, considering the potential impact on their return date in February.
Klopp admitted, “I said if I wish you good luck it would be a lie,” and acknowledged that while he would prefer an early exit for personal reasons, both players could go on to win their respective tournaments. Despite the absence of Salah, who has been crucial with 18 goals this season, Klopp expressed confidence in finding suitable replacements within the squad.
The manager considered options like Dominik Szoboszlai, but the midfielder is ruled out due to a hamstring injury. Klopp emphasized Liverpool’s ability to adapt to different offensive strategies and players’ unique skills. He acknowledged the challenge of facing Arsenal without Salah but remained optimistic about the team’s ability to find solutions.
Looking ahead to a challenging January, Klopp highlighted the upcoming fixtures, including the League Cup semi-final against Fulham.
