In a swift response to the recent controversy surrounding a soldier’s arrest for riding an Okada on a one-way street and subsequently making disparaging remarks against Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, has expressed his disapproval of the soldier’s actions.
The incident unfolded when a video surfaced on social media showing a uniformed soldier riding a motorcycle against traffic on a one-way street. The soldier, later identified as Private Johnson Ikenna, not only violated traffic rules but also verbally criticized Governor Sanwo-Olu in the video.
Upon learning about the incident, Lt. General Lagbaja swiftly took action, denouncing the soldier’s behavior as unacceptable and incompatible with the values of the Nigerian Army. In a statement released by the Army Chief, he emphasized the importance of discipline and respect for civilian authorities among military personnel.
Furthermore, the Chief of Army Staff assured the public that appropriate measures would be taken to address the situation and prevent a recurrence of such incidents.
