The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) successfully completed scheduled preventive maintenance on the long-dormant Jos-Lafia 330kV transmission lines 1 and 2 on Saturday.
The seven-hour maintenance exercise aimed to address the redundancy issues that had plagued the transmission lines for an extended period.
TCN’s Public Affairs General Manager, Ndidi Mbah, affirmed that the Jos Electricity Distribution Company’s customers in Bauchi would not experience any disruption during the maintenance period. The proactive communication with Jos DisCo ensured that there would be no load loss for consumers.
“Since the Jos-Lafia transmission lines have been redundant for a while, Jos DisCo has been duly informed that there would be no load loss. Bauchi will get electricity supply from Kaduna-Jos 330kV lines,” stated Ndidi Mbah.
The strategic rerouting of power supply ensured that Jos DisCo continued to receive normal bulk power supply from TCN for onward transmission to its customers in Bauchi throughout the maintenance exercise.
