The U.S. State Department’s Coalition for Climate Entrepreneurship (CCE) is set to inaugurate its first-ever hub in the United States in San Francisco on January 25.
Announced through a press release from the Office of the Spokesperson on January 16, 2024, the San Francisco CCE Hub is a collaborative effort between the Office of Global Partnerships and partners Good Machine and Arm.
This hub aims to serve as a focal point for climate entrepreneurs worldwide, providing them with opportunities to prototype, scale, and refine their innovations within the dynamic technology ecosystem of Silicon Valley.
Through CCE, the U.S. Department of State, along with private sector partners, is actively contributing to economic empowerment in developing countries by fostering entrepreneurial solutions to climate challenges.
The CCE initiative offers crucial support, including access to capital, technical assistance, capacity building, mentorship, and networking opportunities for both early-stage and growth-stage startups.
Currently, CCE has established hubs in various international locations, including Accra, Ghana; Hanoi, Vietnam; Nairobi, Kenya; Marrakech, Morocco; Bogota, Colombia; San Jose, Costa Rica; and Guatemala City, Guatemala.
The opening of the San Francisco CCE Hub marks a significant step forward in the global effort to address climate change through innovative entrepreneurship and collaboration between government and private sector entities.
