Isiokpo Community Vows Traditional Investigation Into Herbert Wigwe’s Helicopter Crash

The community of Isiokpo kingdom in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State has pledged to employ traditional methods to probe the circumstances surrounding the death of Herbert Wigwe, a prominent figure who perished in a helicopter crash in the United States of America.

Wigwe, who served as the Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings, tragically lost his life alongside his wife and son while traveling from California to Nevada.

Expressing their determination to uncover the truth behind Wigwe’s demise, the traditional leadership of Isiokpo declared their intention to utilize ancient traditions during a procession marking eight days of mourning in his honor.

King Blessing Wagor, the traditional ruler of Isiokpo, emphasized the community’s commitment to unraveling the mystery surrounding Wigwe’s death, stating, “We must get to the root of the whole thing. Isiokpo is an ancient city. We must go back to our traditional way and find out what really killed Herbert Wigwe.”

During the mourning procession, markets, shops, and other business premises in Isiokpo remained closed as residents donned black attire to mourn the loss of Wigwe, whom many described as generous, calm, and friendly.

The procession, culminating at the palace of King Wagor, witnessed hundreds of mourners paying their respects, with prayers for divine intervention to help the community cope with the profound loss.

While acknowledging Wigwe’s significant contributions to the development of Isiokpo, King Wagor lamented the unfinished projects and unfulfilled promises made by the deceased, particularly regarding the provision of electricity.

Furthermore, Apostle Peter Ezemoye, President of Isiokpo Youth Council, called for a thorough investigation into Wigwe’s death, urging government authorities to scrutinize the circumstances surrounding the helicopter crash.

Ezemoye emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in the investigation process, expressing skepticism towards the official reports of the incident.

The community’s resolve to employ traditional methods underscores their determination to seek justice and closure in the wake of Wigwe’s tragic demise, as they mourn the loss of a beloved leader and benefactor.
