The Centre for Integrated Health Programme (CIHP) Nigeria has announced the appointment of Mr. ‘Lolu Akinwunmi as the new Chairman of its Board of Directors. Akinwunmi succeeds Alhaji Muhammed Imam Yahaya (OFR), who retired from the board after several commendable years of service, including a tenure as Chairman.

The board extends its gratitude to Alhaji Yahaya for his leadership and contributions to the organization’s progress.

Bringing a wealth of experience to the role, Akinwunmi has been a longstanding member of the CIHP board. He is the founding Group CEO of the Prima Garnet Africa Group, a renowned Marketing Communication and Advertising Group.

Additionally, he holds positions on the boards of other organisations and is recognised as a Fellow of both the Advertising Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON, formerly APCON) and the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN).

Akinwunmi’s extensive career includes serving on the Board of Ogilvy Africa Johannesburg, a prominent global Advertising Network Group.

Akinwunmi’s notable appointments include being appointed as the pioneer Secretary of the Rebranding Nigeria Ad Hoc Committee in 2008 and subsequently serving as the pioneer CEO of the Nigerian Rebranding Project Support Group under President Goodluck Jonathan. In 2010, he was appointed as the 5th Chairman of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), a federal parastatal under the Ministry of Information and Culture.

CIHP, stemming from the MCAP program of Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health, is a leading non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to improving health outcomes for Nigerians through sustainable systems and partnerships. Supported by funding from PEPFAR/U.S. Government through USCDC, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, among others, CIHP works tirelessly to deliver equitable, quality, and integrated health interventions across Nigeria.

With Akinwunmi at the helm, the Board of Directors expresses confidence in his ability to steer CIHP towards sustainable growth and continued impact on health and development outcomes nationwide.
