In a Move initiative aimed at bolstering educational and agricultural sectors across Nigeria, the country’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has called upon the wives of all 36 state governors to nominate tertiary institutions and farmers for intervention projects under the Renewed Hope Initiative.
Addressing the quarterly meeting with Renewed Hope Initiative Zonal and State Coordinators, Mrs. Tinubu emphasised the importance of education as a pivotal tool for advancing women’s rights.
She urged the nomination of one tertiary institution per state, with a focus on infrastructural and human capital development, in collaboration with the Tertiary Education Trust Fund.
In partnership with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, the First Lady announced support for 100 farmers in each state, comprising 25 men and 75 women.
This initiative aims to encourage youth participation in agriculture, thereby fostering both individual and national growth.
Additionally, Mrs. Tinubu encouraged the participation of youth in initiatives such as the Unity Fabric competition, offering a substantial prize fund of N25 million, and the Every Home a Garden competition, promoting food security through home gardening.
Highlighting ongoing efforts, she mentioned the Women in Agriculture Support Programme, which commenced in Imo State and will extend to other geopolitical zones, starting with Ogun State on April 16.
The meeting concluded with the First Lady extending her Ramadan greetings to all Muslim faithful, expressing prayers for peace and prosperity throughout the nation.
