The All Progressives Congress (APC) embarked on a step towards internal cohesion and peace within the party, as its National Working Committee (NWC) under the leadership of Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, initiated the appointment of six governors to lead reconciliation efforts across the six geo-political zones.

In a ceremony held in Abuja, the national chairman inaugurated the reconciliation committees, urging them to engage in extensive consultations at the zonal level to foster inclusivity and unity.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State will oversee reconciliation efforts in the Southwest, while Senator Hope Uzordinma of Imo State will coordinate activities in the Southeast. Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State will lead reconciliation in the south, and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State will handle matters in the north-central.

Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State is tasked with coordinating the Northeast, while Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State will spearhead reconciliation efforts in the Northwest.

The terms of reference given to the coordinating governors include expanding consultations within their zones, promoting increased participation in party affairs, facilitating interactions between governors and party leadership, and mobilising resources for party activities.

Ganduje emphasised the importance of the coordinators’ roles in enhancing the party’s progress and unity within their respective zones.

In response, the Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), Senator Uzodinma, expressed gratitude for the party’s initiative and assured full commitment from the governors in fulfilling their responsibilities. He highlighted the importance of inclusivity and grassroots participation in advancing the party’s agenda, praising the party’s innovation in involving governors as key drivers of the reconciliation process.
