Suspected kidnappers have reportedly launched an attack on a Celestial Church in Ogun State, seizing two worshippers identified as Oladapo Seyifunmi and Oluboboye Abiola.
The incident took place at the church premises near Oriyarin village in Mowe, located within the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State on Thursday.
In a statement released on Friday, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, disclosed that the perpetrators made their escape through a dense forest situated behind the church.
The statement reads, “A report in my possession indicates that on 28/3/2024, unidentified gunmen invaded a Celestial Church near Oriyarin village in Mowe and abducted Oladapo Seyifunmi and Oluboboye Abiola before fleeing through the thick forest behind the church.”
“The Commissioner of Police, Alamutu Abiodun, has been briefed, and immediate mobilisation of security personnel has been ordered to pursue the culprits.”
